From Sabah, our family moved to Kelantan. We arrived after the 13 May incidences in Kg Baru, KL.

Bapak taught at the Maktab. Other lecturers were Cikgu Rahim, Cikgu Ibrahim, Cikgu Khalid, Madam Wong?, Cikgu Yahya Ibrahim, Puan Sharifah?, Mohaini's father (his wife was Spanish), Cikgu Jamaluddin, and a few others.

We occupied an old brick house in front of Pak Harun's village. He reared horses, chimpanzees in addition to domestic animals. Our house used to be a British officer's house, and then a Japanese officer's house during the Second World War.

Our house had a big Flame of the Forest tree with bright red flowers, an African Tulip tree with purple flowers, and many coconut trees. Bapak had Pak Harun's chimp to pluck the coconuts for us. We grew our own banana plant (pisang berangan), kafir lime (limau purut) plant, and guava tree (pokok jambu batu).

Our house on the grounds of Maktab Perguruan Kota Bharu. Bapak's Opel Rekod car was bought in 1965 in Alor Setar, Kedah. It was shipped to Sabah in 1967, and shipped back to Pengkalan Chepa,  Kelantan, in 1969.

We waited to go to school.
