Not since 1920 has Malacca experienced such abnormal spring tides as visited the Settlement from Wednesday to Sunday a fortnight ago, says the Malacca Observer. Many of the properties in Klebang, Banda Hilir and Pengkalan Rama were so much under water that little canoes could be paddled across them. Paddy fields in the vicinity of these kampongs have also suffered much from these tides. Taken from The Straits Times, 10 December 1924, Page 8
