He built his house in 1897 after returning from the Hajj.

It was during his Makkah trip that he learnt the gold trade
He returned to Banda Hilir and started his own gold trade (buat barang kemas celup emas)

His work would have involved the gold supply retail business in Banda Hilir, Malacca.

His business would have been registered in Malacca.

His estate would have been attended to by the local estate and trust agency in Malacca.

His date of demise is unknown.
